Back-to-School Giveaway and National Night Out Event
Another very successful Back-to-School Giveaway and National Night Out at our property Towne Gardens in Buffalo, New York!
We were joined by several incredible organizations and community partners who helped make the event a huge success: We served more than 350 people, distributed 200 Chiavetta’s chicken dinners. Steve’s Meats, a Buffalo-based meat market, generously donated 150 hot dogs. We gave away 200 backpacks! A heartfelt thank you to the following organizations; YAP (Youth Advocate Programs) donated clothing for families preparing for the school year and provided 160 hygiene kits for boys and girls. Buffalo Go Green partnered with us to distribute fresh fruits and vegetables to residents. The Buffalo Police Department attended with their Underwater Rescue and Recovery Team, and the children absolutely loved taking pictures on the jet skis. CAO Mobile Food Distribution provided free groceries to residents. We had two licensed barbers and three hair braiders providing free services to over 40 kids. P.U.S.H Buffalo jumping in to help the braiders and barbers as well! United Healthcare assisted residents with understanding their health insurance options and how to maximize their benefits. Urban Ministries distributed Narcan, sexual health supplies, and educational resources. Takeover Jiu Jitsu Academy engaged children with traditional dancing and drumming demonstrations while also introducing them to the fundamentals of Jiu Jitsu. Power Under One Roof Ministries gave away prizes, balloon animals, and T-shirts throughout the event. Buffalo Face Paint was an amazing addition. The children loved her designs, and she painted more than 120 faces throughout the day. A special thank you to DJ Low, who came through at the last minute and truly saved the day by providing music and keeping the energy high. A special thank you to the BFC team members for all their support throughout the event. Congratulations to Denaysha Smith for a tremendous job – Well done!
