A Good Night's Rest Starts at Home
New Beds for Towne Gardens Families
On Thursday, October 22, BFC Partners joined Sleep in Heavenly Peace at Towne Gardens to deliver and assemble new beds for resident families. The team arrived early that morning and, by the end of the day, had completed five beds across three households. Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building and delivering beds for children who may not have one. This marked the first collaboration between the organization and BFC Partners, and we are hoping for many more fantastic opportunities to support our residents. The work was entirely hands-on. Team members carried every frame, rail, and component into each apartment and assembled the beds on site. Volunteers from both organizations shared techniques and refined their process with each build. What began as a careful, step-by-step effort became a well-coordinated operation by the final bed, with team members learning from one another throughout the day.

The Impact on Families
Parents expressed deep gratitude, and the children were visibly excited to receive their new beds, especially the bedding sets selected individually for each of them. A bed of one's own supports healthy sleep, focus at school, and a sense of stability at home. Moments like these are a reminder that meaningful community engagement extends beyond the building itself, into the daily lives of the residents who call it home.

Building a Lasting Partnership
A huge thanks to BFC's very own Denaysha Smith for bringing together this opportunity and for all her work in community engagement at Towne Gardens. Another thanks to Jerry Sheldon from the Sleep in Heavenly Peace team for his teamwork throughout the day. This was the strong foundation needed for an ongoing partnership, one that positions both of our organizations to reach more families in the future. We also extend a sincere thanks to Victor Pereira, Nia Holmes, and Megan Sykes of the BFC Partners team for their work transporting and assembling the beds, and to the rest of the Sleep in Heavenly Peace team for their partnership in making this day possible.
